Alexandar Winchell was a known as the Chancellor of the University of Syracuse and was a state geologist of Michigan at the time. This map shows the geological formations in the state of Michigan by using colors. Each color is represented on the left sideline of the map with a description of what it correlates with. The sideline also has different geological periods listed to go with each geological formation.
