1 2021-06-21T15:34:01-04:00 Benjamin Steinig 74775bc5c03628537e0192f4b5deec6811d610f6 7 1 Sebastian Bauman-- the creator of this map-- was a topographical engineer who immigrated to North America from Germany. He designed and created this map very shortly after the Battle of Yorktown when the British surrendered. This was the very first map published that was dedicated to the battle and to the famous general, George Washington. The plan illustrates the British troops in red. The French and American troops are colored in yellow and blue. The passage at the bottom of the map contains the description of the battle.
